Seven (7) years ago the Dovecot of St. James joined with the Maddens Funeral Supplies Ltd. in launching, what is now known as the Annual Christmas Treat. This charity based event sees citizens of the less fortunate class receiving parcels of food items.

This treat is a well anticipated one and receives scores of participants each year. In 2014 over 500 parcels were extended. No requirements are ever needed and as long as we have to give, no one will be turned away.

20080825backtoschool

Dovecot of St. James in collaboration with Maddens Funeral Supplies Ltd has been spearheading a ‘Back to School’ programme for the past few years to assist select students at the primary level. This programme was implemented in honor of the late Leslie Ruel Madden (Snr) by means of a foundation created by his children, the Leslie Ruel Madden Foundation. The programme consists of offering to select students from Primary Schools across St. James an educational grant.  This Educational Grant, valued at Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) allows the parent/guardian to purchase textbooks at Sangster’s Book Stores, and/or E.B.’s Centre Ltd in Montego Bay.

The Foundation’s primary objective is to assist in the improvement of Jamaica’s social services, especially in the fields of health and education.

Columbarium of Faith

Cremation is the preparation of the human remains for their final disposition. Our Garden of Remembrance and Meditation is a serene spot adorned with bright tropical flowers and benches. Inturnment in our beautiful columbarium is yet another option available to our families.

Urn Garden of Eternity

Hosting rock formations, a pond of floating lilies and goldfishes; The Garden of Eternity contains the Urns transporting the cremated remains of your loved ones. This is just one option available to families who choose cremation as their final mode of burial.

Garden of Tranquility

The Garden of Tranquility is located on the flat (in the valley) of the Dovecot Memorial Park. It is shaded by trees and complimented by shrubs of beauty, and is conveniently fitted with a bathroom facility.

“Yea though you face your valley of death, it is in the valley that He will restore your broken heart.”
